Many Skunkworks team projects utilize Raspberry Pi computers along with various software defined radios. These projects developed individually with no common mounting system or power source, so when we got up to about about eight individual projects we decided that they needed to be pulled together in one manageable location. A small Tripp-Lite networking cabinet was available from one of the Skunkworks team members, and others designed and 3D printed the router mount, power supply and rack mounts for the SDRs and Pi’s. Each Pi and SDR is mounted to a pill-out tab that slides into the rack providing for easy maintenance and reorganization. The power supply was custom designed by N3PUU and provides 5 volts at 8 amps through each USB connector, which is more than sufficient for each Pi even when powering an SDR radio, bias-t preamp, sensors and other peripherals.
