The YSF room US-W2MMD_Sknkwks (room 13120) is bridged directly to DMR Talkgroup 8031341 on the AmComm network. The bridge runs through a controller at N3PUU’s QTH — so your hotspot just needs to connect to the YSF side. No cross-mode setup required on your end. So if you have a TSF-compatible radio and a hotspot (we’ve used the WPDS hotspots and they work well) you can link that radio to the same talk group that’s used by the DMR radios and communicate worldwide. Here’s how to set it up.
- On your WPSD hotspot dashboard (http://wpsd.local/ or the IP):
- Go to Configuration.
- In Yaesu System Fusion Configuration:
- Set YSF Startup Host to US-W2MMD_Sknkwks (or YSF13120 — it may appear as “US-W2MMD_Sknkwks”, “W2MMD GCARC”, or similar).
- Make sure FCS Network is toggled ON (helps compatibility even for direct YSF rooms).
- Click Apply Changes → wait for the hotspot to restart and connect.
- Your hotspot should now show connected to room 13120 in the dashboard’s YSF status.
- On your Yaesu Fusion radio:
- Switch to Digital / C4FM mode (not analog FM).
- Press the X (Wires-X) button or go to the Wires-X / Room menu.
- Select Search & Direct or Room / Direct Entry.
- Enter 13120 (or select US-W2MMD_Sknkwks from the list if it’s populated).
- Connect — the display should confirm “Connected” to 13120 or the room name.
- Test the link:
- Key up with something like: “[Your callsign] testing YSF 13120 to AmComm TG 8031341 via GCARC bridge.”
- Your transmission goes: YSF radio → hotspot → YSF network → room 13120 → N3PUU bridge → AmComm TG 8031341.
- DMR users on TG 8031341 will hear you (including locals on our KB2LNB repeater at 440.10625 MHz, where TG 8031341 is mapped to Talkgroup 2 on Timeslot 2 (TS2)).
- You’ll hear replies from the DMR side through the same bridge.
For DMR Radio Users (AnyTone D878/578, OpenGD77, etc.)
- Program a channel for TG 8031341 (standard on hotspots or networked access).
- For direct access to the KB2LNB repeater (440.10625 MHz +5 offset, Color Code usually 1):
- Set Timeslot: TS2
- Set Talkgroup: 2 (this routes to AmComm TG 8031341 locally on the repeater).
- No extra bridge config needed — just select the TG or repeater channel and transmit.
Quick Path Summary
- YSF side: Your radio/hotspot → YSF Room 13120 (US-W2MMD_Sknkwks) → bridged at N3PUU → AmComm TG 8031341.
- DMR repeater side: KB2LNB shows TG 8031341 as TG 2 on TS2 (only two slots exist in DMR Tier II: TS1 and TS2).
This keeps everything simple and accessible — whether you’re on a hotspot anywhere, the repeater in the coverage area, or roaming with your handheld. If the connection acts up or audio levels need tweaking, just key up on 13120 (YSF) or TG 8031341 / TG 2 TS2 (DMR) and we’ll sort it.
